Position Summary
The Director of Information Technologies is a member of the Gabriel’s leadership team.  The Director of IT will oversee the development, implementation and use of technology throughout the company.  Areas of responsibility include determining user requirements, recommending practical solutions and leading company efforts to improve the effective use of technology.   The position reports to the CFO and supervises all IT staff.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
1. Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development upgrade and support of all IT system, including servers, PC’s, operating systems, telephones (including cell phones), software applications and peripherals.
2. Provide expertise and support during systems upgrades, installations, conversions, and file maintenance.
3. Oversee the integration of new systems with existing systems.
4. Responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the company’s retail point of sale system (POS).
5. Maintain an inventory of the company’s technology equipment.
6. Work with the Leadership team to develop strategies and plans to enhance store service levels, improve user effectiveness and foster innovation.
7. Manage IT staff, including hiring, training, evaluation, guidance, discipline and discharge.
8. Develop the IT staff to meet the changing needs of the company and its employees.
9. Develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to IT staff and end-users.
10. Ensure the creation and maintenance of all written documentation, including system and user manuals, license agreements, and documentation of modifications and upgrades.
11. Oversee and participate in providing end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
12. Keep current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements.
13. Manage financial aspects of the IT Division, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.
14. Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
15.  Manage telecommunications infrastructure and development plans, projects, policies and procedures.
16. Manage servers, security solutions, network hardware and equipment.
17. Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.

Qualifications and Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
2. Minimum 5 years management experience within a systems support environment.
3. Excellent communications skills both written and oral.
4. Understanding of standard business practices.
5. Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
6. Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information in a strictly private manner.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The work is performed primarily in an office or store setting.  Travel is required to work with the regional retail locations.  The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
