Position Summary

The Retail Training Manager is a member of the Retail management team. The Retail Training Manager is responsible for the development of training material. Additionally, the Retail Training Manager is responsible for the implementation of the customer service training program.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain of training material for store personnel. This includes training material for store managers and customer service representatives.
  2. Develop and maintain a training program for Manager in Training candidates. The program includes training relative to customer service, store opening procedures, point of sale system, store appearance, emergency procedures, entrepreneurship, etc.
  3. Provide information to the District Managers regarding the District Managers implementation of the Manager in Training program.
  4. Develop training program for store customer service representatives including (but not limited to) customer interaction, product knowledge, cross selling, point of sale system, emergency procedures, etc.
  5. Implement training program for customer service representatives.
  6. Recommendations to the Retail Leadership Team related to potential customer service enhancements to improve store service levels.
  7. Ensure the creation and maintenance of all written documentation. Assure a copy of all training materials are kept with the human resource department.
  8. Develop programs or processes to identify the successfulness of training programs and material.
  9. Keep current with the latest industry best practices related to customer service.
  10. Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Retail Operations.

Confidentiality

The Retail Training Manager will have contact with a large number of individuals working in retail operations. It is paramount for the Retail Training Manager to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding company information. If the Retail Training Manager becomes aware of employee issues within operations, such individual must be directed to the appropriate department within the company. The Retail Training Manager must not become involved in the problems or complaints of individual store personnel.

  7. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Ability to understand current environmental and market-based trends. Develop systems and methodologies that will assist the company to meet and exceed the expectations of its customers and of the marketplace.

Qualifications and Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
  2. Minimum 5 years management experience within a retail management environment.
  3. Excellent communications skills both written and oral.
  4. Understanding of standard business practices.
  5. Must be available to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  6. Must be able to drive to store locations.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information in a strictly private manner.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The work is performed primarily in an office or store setting. Travel is required to work with the regional retail locations. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

  1. Able to climb, reach, grasp, bend, pull and lift up to 30 lbs.
  2. Must be able to stand and/walk 95% of time spent on the job.
  3. Must be able to reach with hands and arms above head and below knee level.
  4. Must be able to stoop and/or kneel.
  5. Must be able to speak English clearly.
  6. Must be able to lift single bottles of product from floor-level to above shoulder level. Approximate maximum weight of 2 lbs.
  7. Must have clear vision (with or without correction) at 20 inches or less.
